I agree, they ARE viewed as role models (by some) like it or not. But their notarity came as result of their success in the sport they play, not the personal lives they lead. It's the bored general public that decides that it's not enough--that their personal lives need to be put under a microscope as well. Despite what Tiger has done, it doesn't change the fact that he is still a golf phenom. If people can't draw a line between their performance on the green, or football field, or movie screen, then it sounds like they have some issues of their own they need to sort out.
It's like saying that what happened to Princess Diana was her own fault because she was a public figure and 'it just comes with the territory.'
And yes, I remember what Vick did...point? I don't think anyone will ever be able to forget that!

Exactly! Parents should take a proactive role in making sure their kids know the difference instead of sitting around and waiting for celebs to screw up so that they can be dissapointed.
