| I did some reading on this sad story and found at least some proof that there are good people in this world Taken from: here Quote:
A grieving northern Alberta family wants to give something back to a city man whose tiny dog was beaten to death in a vicious burglary this week.
Joyce Scratch, a dog breeder who lives in Fawcett, 133 km northwest of Edmonton, says her children were inconsolable after learning of the Tuesday attack on Bob Desrosiers' three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, Alex.
"When my children saw the news, they said they wanted to give Bob one of their puppies," Scratch said. "We have a male puppy and as soon as he's old enough I'll get him checked out at the vet and give him his first needles and Bob can pick him up."
Desrosiers arrived home around 5:20 p.m. to find his bungalow ransacked and Alex lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor, his head apparently crushed by the intruder's foot. Police have no suspects.
As many as a dozen people have called Desrosiers offering to top up the $1,000 reward his family is offering for information in the case. The total is now about $10,000.
