When I litterbox train I start off with multiple boxes in different rooms. As the pup grows and develops better bladder control I start to reduce the number of boxes and guide the pup to the main box I want him to use. The key is supervision. Even if you have an accident, that is a learning opportunity to show your dog what is expected. A small puppy is not always able to hold it and run from one end of the house to the other.

In your case, I would suggest baby gating off areas and giving your pup less access to your home until she is more reliably trained. Sometimes with potty training you have to take a step back and repeat a process. She is getting the hang of it as you say she is using her box when confined to the one room with it. I hope hubby can remain patient. At 6 months she is still a puppy and learning. Give her time, supervision and continue your training. She'll get it!!
