It does not matter who the breeder is, any puppy has the potential to be infested with coccidia for all of the reasons that have been previously stated.
These buyers that are buying from disreputable breeders are doing so because the dogs are cheaper, or because reputable breeders will not sell to them.
If they took the time to ask questions other than "how much" they would be able to distinguish between good breeders and bad breeders. But when they are only concerned with the price they do not ask any other questions. |
I have to disagree I think they are not educated as i was not and did not do their homework it is not about the money as i almost paid 3k from a pet store for my second yorkie and i asked is this a show dog and yes that is how stupid i was back then having had my yorkie for 6 mos from another pet store. Had no clue what a puppy mill dog was. I decided against getting the dog and found the byb in the PENNY SAVER lol yeah no pennies saves on her. I thought i was doing better getting her from a breeder
I am a very successful career person and think i am pretty intelligent but in this area i was stupid as had no clue and why i spend so much of my time trying to educate others on health in animals, etc as i have experienced so much now and feel sorry for people as i think honestly most people do not do their homework. They think i want to get a dog and they get a dog from the fastest place they can. Another thing is i had no clue about rescues until i stumbled across petfinder.com one day and rescued my maltese. Yep i guess you could say i must have been living in a cave lollllll as now knowing all this stuff I feel like an idiot but I have to say there are probably alot of people like me as money was not my issue - I do feel things happen for a reason as i was able to care for them and I am able to help others from what i have learned and i went from workaholic to dogaholic lolll
