I am highly against the citronella collar. I think it's a form of fear training. He will be scared to ever make a peep, and dogs need to be able to bark to tell you things. I think as his owner you need to understand what his barks mean. Also, overtime he will get desensitized to the spray and it will not work anyway.

Products like these are kind of like "quick fixes", and IMO don't really solve the real problem. You need to find out what is making him bark. Like, he sees a squirrel, so you go look at it with him through the window, like yes look a squirrel! Ok now let's do something else, like play and distract him with a ball.

Some others have had much success with pennies in a can or a squirt of water in the face. Still kind of the same to me, scaring them, but less severe. I can only imagine how uncomfortable a spray of citronella in my face could be.
