What was your experience in the days/weeks after the surgery. Dont know what to expect, or how much pain he will be in or for how long.
Zacchie was in considerable pain for a few days, and constipated, as well. Pain meds can constipate. Check with Dr. to see if you need to do anything about it. Zac can't have yogurt, because of his cleft, so we had to use a stool softener. After he got "moving" he was better quickly. It took him a while to use that leg, but I'm not sure if it was due to pain or habit.
Looking at him now, you wouldn't even know he'd had surgery.
He lost a lot of muscle mass before his surgery, but he's gained it all back now. I had to do a little massage therapy with his leg to get it to extend properly. It was drawn up with spasms, but we worked through it.
Prayers for Toby. Keep us updated.
