First of all make sure your vet is very familiar with toy breeds. One that uses Iso or Sevo for anesthetic. Make sure that all her adult teeth have come in and she doesn't have any retained teeth. If she does those can be removed at the same time she is spayed only putting her under once. The one thing you need to make sure of is that her growth platelets are at full growth before having it done. You're vet will know how to check for that. Her recovery time will take about 10 days. But, she'll be raring to go in about 2. So, you'll have to keep her down so, that she doesn't rip her stitches. She will be sent home with pain meds. Don't be afraid to ask the vet a lot of questions. If she has to be kept over night, make sure there is someone on the premises to watch her. If not, insist that you bring her home as, you'll be able to watch her better.
