I am glad that you have decided to have your little girl spayed but I have one quick question. You said that you rescued her. I'm wondering what rescue would have allowed an intact female to be rehomed and not had you in the very least sign an agreement to have her immediately spayed. There are no legitimate rescues that I know of that would allow a rescue out of their possesion without spay/neuter.
