Hi Marie...I tried Pee pads at first...but to no avail.....I had to crate train or Partician train (gated area)Zoe....& even with that- it took her some time to realize that she should go Outside.....LOL. She now lets me know by scratching at the door....which is something she started on her own about 3 months ago & shes 41/2yrs old. If I didnt crate her early on....she went in the house. I have thrown away many area rugs & then decided to partician an area for her when I am not around. So to my surprise.....when she started scratching at the door.....I was absolutely thrilled & cried like a baby....LOL! So best of luck.....perhaps your Yorkie will say "Yes" to the pee pads......
