15 days ago today my 5lb Mom gave birth to 5 live pups. On the day of their birth one female sounded very raspy. I took them all to the vet. They all went on antibiotics and the little raspy girl went on breathing treatments 3x's a day. Day 3 they went back to the vet and he said pneumonia. They changed antibiotics and all 5 went on breathing treatments. The next day our raspy baby died. Then that same day female #2 also sounded raspy. Checked with the vet, added benadryl and fluid under the skin on ALL pups because they were now getting dehydrated. Was already feeding the runt and one other girl every 2 hours because they were not getting enough to eat.. Puppies went back to the vet and he said they have REFLUX of all things. No cleft or anything but that had already been checked. ..the next morning at 930 am our second baby girl died.
Now we continue the breathing treatments. we keep them upright after eating, We feed every 2-3 hours round the clock. Our big boy ( 7oz!) has his eyes open and is nursing like a champ. our surviving girl is 4.4 oz. Not loosing but no gain in 5 days!!! No raspy sound. No fluid from the nose. Just no gain
Our tiny boy is holding at 3.9oz and has also not gained in 5 days.
I am really at a loss. I am doing everything the vet sais to do. I am keeping them with mom. But feeding and cleaning them. Running a humidifier and a heater keeping them at 82 degrees. Giving all meds and breathing treatments and in general I feel GREAT about everything except their weight.
I have NEVER had to burry one of our little ones before and loosing these 2 babies just broke my heart. Is there ANYTHING anything at all I can do to help these little ones pull through? Maybe there is something the vet didn't think of.. I did take them to another vet for a second opinion and all he added was benadryl. 1.5 of a cc every 12 hours.
so to put their day all in one place the puppies, eat every 2-3 hours 4 CC ( Up from the 3 they were taking last week)

get 3 breathing treatments a day

get benadryl 2'x per day

Antibiotics 2x's per day

stay at 82 degrees and have a humidifier

we also have the Dex to use under the skin if they need it

They did take steroid in the albuterol for 5 days but are all done with that part.

I'm at a loss now.
