I think they are great for keeping a dog from roaming and thus causing a distraction. I would rather Layla get "thrown" 6 inches in her crate than having to worry about broken glass cutting her. I just think to myself- If i am in an accident with her- no one is going to worry about taking care of my dog should she be hurt. And if i am taken away in an ambulance- what happens to Lay? If she is in a crate- she will stay there and I keep an emergency number attached to her crate so they have someone to call.
I don't care what anyone else does but I don't think it is fair to say a dog in a crate buckled in is dangerous. |
Marci - the only point I was trying to make about buckleing a crate in is if they are loose in the crate (especially if it is hard sided and little big) they will be thrown around inside the crate and this can be dangerous - even more so if the crate is not buckled in. Still a better way to go than having them loose. But you are correct that if you were taken away in an ambulance, Layla would at least be secure in her crate.
