Hello, welcome to YT! I just use a little Wahl brand beard and moustache trimmer to do my girls ears. It's really easy. I just lay her ear flat on my hand and shave the top 1/3 of the front and back. It gets close enough that I don't have to worry about trimming the edges (which makes me nervous). The only thing that I have to be careful of is that the razor doesn't get too hot if I'm taking my time. I noticed her pull away once, and I think that was why. As far as when to sleep in your bed with you. I brought Missy into my bed on her 4th night home, but I took extra precautions. I got a donut shaped bed that was deep enough that she would stay in the center of it. I put her up in the top corner of my bed, right by my head. And I pushed my bed up against the wall. Then I filled the cracks with rolled up blankets *just in case* she managed to escape her bed, and I also put a big pillow below where she lay *just in case*. We still sleep this way. I feel safe knowing that she's contained to her little corner of the bed, and she's never actually tried to leave there. I'm sure that other people will have better suggestions for sleeping arrangements. This is just what worked for us. We have a very large bed, so there was plenty of room to squeeze her in there

Enjoy your new baby!
