As for sleeping in your bed; I would wait until he is potty trained. You don't want him going potty in your bed, and the crate is a great way to potty train.

Also, for the first hair cut... you should wait until he has had all of his shots to take him places, including the groomer's. This is important so he does not catch anything that would make him sick.

If you want his ears to stand up, I would advise that you trim the ear hair. Just carefully trim the hair on the outsides of the ears so the hair does not weigh the ears down.
