Congratulations on your new Yorkie. He still sounds quite young. Sydney's vet said not to trust her until at least a year old. I would suggest using a set schedule for feeding and watering. In between times, you might want to try crate training and not giving him full run of the house. When you play with him, keep him in a bare floor area such as the kitchen. I really like the book, "How to House Train Your Dog in Seven Days." After reading that book, I understood the ease and necessity of having a strict schedule and a crate. I can almost set my watch to Sydney's bowl movements. If you put your pup on in the litter box and he doesn't do his business when you know he should be going, try for ten minutes and then put him in his crate. Try again in 15 minutes. This is so your pup doesn't become stressed.
