We had trouble with Chloe when she was younger. We didn't have a fenced in back yard so we would take her on her leash to let her go potty and she did. She just had a problem with pooping outside for some reason. I think it was probably because it took her so long to poop (finding a spot to or getting distracted) that we just got frustrated with her and brought her back inside. Now we got our fence about a month ago and the first 2 weeks she wouldn't go without someone being out there with her. She just looked inside the house from the door probably wondering why nobody was out there with her. So I would stand out there for a while to let her go potty and I'd go back in with her for a few days. I slowly started letting her stay out there by herself and she finally got it after about 2 and a half weeks. It was very strange for her though. lol...
I think it will just take time. If she wont go off her leash then just stand out there with her until she goes and slowly go back into the house within a week. It will happen!! Don't give up!! I was just like you were when we first started the fence process! =] |
