I think you will be fine, then they can grow up together and they will have a companion when you are gone. We have an English mastiff and a toy poodle both males. The mastiff wont play with the poodle, so we decided to get another little dog to keep him company. That is when we got little Tinkerbell, our yorkie. The thing is, she has no desire to play with my poodle. She plays with the mastiff, he is VERY gentle with her. He lays on the ground and lets her jump all over his head and lick and play. Its so cute to see her following him around outside. He is also her protector, he didn’t really like my neighbor petting her, as soon as he saw my neighbor reaching through the fence, he ran over there and sat and watched the whole time. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into being territorial over her….. I just think its cute right now how they play together. |
