I had a mom lose her babies, she cried and looked for those babies for two days. Then another one gave birth to 5 babies. I took two of them and gave them to the other mom and she was sooooooooo happy. I cried just watching her mother those babies.
At another time I had a mother of 1 week get sick and stop producing milk, I had another mother that had just weaned hers so I put the new babies on her. she tolerated them nursing as long as I would sit with her, but she wanted nothing to do with the mothering. I put the babies back to their mother between feedings. After the mom got to feeling better, her milk came back, since the puppies were still nursing from her between feedings. |
