We keep Maggie's body hair about three inches long. Her lower tummy is shaved and the chest is about 1 inch long. Never use clippers on the face. Trim the top 1/3 of the ear edge with scissors.

Maggie goes to the groomer because I can't get up the nerve to jerk the hair out of her ears.

I too was going to let her hair grow for the winter. That was until she kept dragging in dead grass and leaves. So, it's Newborn T-Shirts, during the day to keep her warm. They work great.
