No, I am not affiliated with these people - they're amish - I'm definitely not. You can see pictures of my Daisy on Myspace. Look up "ShikMegan". I was actually just out yesterday looking at some other breeds I might be interested in. The family is very nice and accomodating. I talked with the woman for over an hour seeking advice on breeding in the future. Any questions, feel free to ask. Im more than happy to help if I can. Shikmegan@aol.com
Actually, the people who run Horning's are Menonite's, NOT Amish. I bought my cockapoo from them and, although she is healthy and pretty and a joy to have, she was my first puppy purchase and when we drove to PA and picked her up, I did wonder about the facilities and the fact that her parents were not on site and owned by someone else. The puppies are advertised as being able to go out as needed, but are actually kept in crates that, although clean, are on average 3 puppies per crate. The puppies do have an outside area, but are not able to go in and out as advertised. The woman was very nice and good with the puppies, but that doesn't change the fact that they are all packed in there in the puppy barn in those crates (actually cages). Just to address another question that was posted, the Hornings's have friends who designed and run the web site and field all the e-mails. The puppies all looked clean, but I wanted to take them all home just to get them out of those cages...they had about 6 or 8 breeds when we went with no parents on site, and no contact info for the breeders. I love my Bella, but now that I know more about puppy farms and mills, I would not purchase from them again.
