You know I was wondering the same thing. I am just happy that my guys have a chip in. If a vet scans it at least I have a record of the matching number and I could prove that it is indeed my dog.How many vets actually call the home again number when someone brings in a yorkie to match up the number. That would only work if someone brings the dog in and say they found this dog. If they are passing it off as their own, you can guarantee every vet would be on the look out for someone bringing in a yorkie.
