I got Spikey when he was 7 1/2 weeks, his ears were down. I waited patiently for his ears to go up at 12 weeks, they didn't. When he layed down, his ears were up, but once he stood up, they flopped down.

Then I finally did some research on shaving and taping yorkies' ears. I found out it is not as cruel and complicated as what I thought. I shaved and trimmed his ears and taped for 4 days and now his ears are permanently up.

Give it a try. Mine was so afraid of electric clipper, my husband ended up using his manual shaver and trimmed his ears with a pair of hair scissors. It turned out well. Make sure you shave 1/3 top portion of his ears and then wet his ears (make sure water don't go inside the ears) and then trim the side of the ears. I used medical tape and gauze to tape his ears.

If you don't want to tape his ears, you can massage his ears 2x per day. This will also help the ears to stand.
