Make the Pet Store reimburse you for all the Vet fee's if you can, find a furbabysitter, and return home ready to pick up from there with your new furbaby.
Though personally, I would cancel my trip, see if I could get a reimbursement from the airlines, and stay home with my new furbaby.
Seriously, I would regardless of what my family or friends thought, because my new sick furbaby would now be a part of my immediate family, and I don't believe in getting a Yorkie for a material possession.
