Nothing like fighting weight, when they're in the ring, when they get much above that. I know you don't prefer small, it's something that happens and we take a chance when we breed for the show ring. You watch, train, wait and pray all pans out. At times the don't come together until they are a year old. An oversized yorkie you can pretty much see that's going to happen from the get go, we know they're going to have to be petted out........but, a smaller one....anything can happen

I know your reason for showing Krissy (beautiful lil girl).
We brought Tahlulah and her out at the same time. Both were small......Tahlulah grew.....to 5 1/2 pounds....Krissy decided to stay a forever puppy. I know you had high hopes for her, since everything about her was there. It's tough when one breeds in a limited scale, for themselves in hopes for that next Champion.

I know now why Lee was so tough on me, making me finish several Champions before I went near the whelping box. She was developing my eye. Making me learn everything I could.....knowing that I needed all the experience in the ring before I would ever be able to evaluate a dog with any sort of expertise.
I know what you mean! That was the way with Molly too, her sister was on the bigger side got to over 7 1/2 pounds as I predicted so she went into a loving pet home and I kept Molly for over a year hoping she would grow as well. Actually she did get to be alittle over 5 pounds but her size was still small compared to what I actually like in a breeding bitch. She had amazing structure, movement and everything else going for her and I had several say she would be fine to even breed BUT for me she was too small is size not weight. While I might breed a bigger bitch everything has to come into play. I could have kept Molly's sister because she had great lines but was a little over the size in standard I didn't want to run into having on the larger side puppies. She had great color, structure and movement and her coat was to die for in texture and color but her personality was a major factor too. She was a little more timid than I like for a breeding female as well.
This is such a hard breed to judge and whew can be very complicated for the show ring. Again, as we've stated many times the only way to really know what is right for the ring is to be out there and do and watch at the shows.
