I quit using the disposable pads long ago for the same reason. I get my pad from Ezwhelp and they are great: Reclaimed Pads

I buy the used pads and they are in excellent condition. I usually get the ones with no stains that are $3.95 each but this last time I order some of the ones with no stains but they had a tiny hole in the backing and those were just $2.95 each. I have no carpet in our house so the pads work great.
