I know in the beginning when I saw the sack and was unsure....I'd gently push on the outer edge to see if I felt any resistance, or just felt like a water ballon.
That is right and it will be clear looking. Many newbies have a fear of breaking the water sack but in reality the water stack has to break for the labor to progress. The fluid in the water sack is designed to lubricate the birth canal. Sometimes the water sack will just break on its own before you see it and you will just see a bunch of fluids coming out.
