I used to have the same type of problems with Willy, I just recently changed his food from Pedigree to Canidae and the loose, mucusy stools as well as the small yellow throw up have stopped completely. He would go thru those bouts about 1 a month, the vet would tell me to fast him for 24 hours and then boiled hamburger and rice for a few days, then gradually go back to his food. I just chalked it up to a touchy stomach or he ate too much cat food again.
So far we have had great results with the food change.
