Duck and potato is way more white potato matter of fact all white potato and why it was your problem as it was inflaming the intestinal tract. Venison and sweet potato has mostly sweet potato and a little bit of white in it but no where near like the duck and white potato. My dogs vomit on white potato all three of them and why i think dogs with ibd do much better on grain based diets but then you have the allergy factor. Sometimes you have to just go with what works so was the food she was eating when you got her working? Sometimes we borrow trouble when we are searching around for the best foods. Have you looked into honest kitchen food at all - the preference is a good choice for allergy dogs and then you can add in your protein you want to use.

If what you are doing is working then great stick to it and make sure your dog is getting a balanced diet. Many on here like susan davis she is a licensed nutritionist who graduated from ucdavis which is the only vet school for nutrition emphasis that i am aware of in the us. Her website is Holistic Veterinarian Pet Nutritionist Holistic Pet Care - the only issue i have is she does recommend potato in ibd dogs and i am against that since i have 3 dogs and all three vomit when i give them any white potato as i use to pill my dog with white potato and she did fine but my other two vomit it up even my healthy maltese. Now after my yorkie had a bout of colitis from metacam incident she vomits white potato as that drug affected her intestinal tract and she has been jacked up ever since.
I know some go by allergy tests and other's do not but on the allergy test Potato came up as 73, but I'm not a vet nor do I know much about dog allergies as I am just learning but I know that is kind of high. I can only go by my experience with myself and when I eat something I am allergic to. I also know that when she was eating it she was still itching if I did not give her a zyrtec. She has been off the zyrtec since I switched her diet on Saturday and she has not itched.
