We have an appointment on Nov. 18th to have Muffin spayed. She will be 5 months old on Nov. 17. Our vet told us the best time to spay is between 4 - 6 months. Muffin is 3 pounds and I am SO WORRIED about her having surgery when she's this little. If I wait until the middle of December when she is 6 months old, we'll be right in the throws of the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle.

I know that many of you have had your females spayed. Did you wait until they were older than 6 months? I guess there is always a chance that Muffin will go into heat soon and that is why the vet wants it done before that happens.

I don't know what to do and I'd appreciate any feedback, especially from the breeders we have on this forum.
