I have a different point of view. Instead of trying to get her to stop barking, why don't you try to figure out WHY she is barking in the first place? Is she bored? Is she all alone in her pen or crate? Does she want up in your lap? She can't get to her favorite toy? treat? hungry? antsy? I highly doubt the dog barks only to anger your family and neighbors. There must be a reason.

I didn't use pennies in a can, citronella collars, water squirts, bark repellers, loud noises, etc. In my eyes those are all scare tactics. When Uni barks at me I ask her what she wants. 99% of the time I already know what she wants (playtime). But if I don't, I follow her and say what? what do you want? She will lead me to what it is and then I will know. If you ignore them, they will just continue to bark.
