Roll up newspapers, secure each with a rubberband and place them in several key locations in the house. I had them on the kitchen counter and the coffee table. Whenever your dog barks slap the newspaper down hard (so it makes a loud noise). Right after that say "Quiet" or "No Bark" in a very commanding way. The first couple of times it will startle her into not barking. If she barks again slap it down again. Use some real force so it will be really loud. Within a few times all you have to do is reach for it as you say "Quiet" and she will listen. Soon after that you will only have to say the word.
This worked like a charm and didn't harm man nor beast. Although they do tend to eyeball me when I pick up the paper to read - they calm down when they see me UNroll the paper.
Good luck and best wishes. |
Thats a good idea. Also the squirting with water is excellent too.
