Congrats on your new adoption. I would just give him lots of space (don't avoid him) so that he can kind of explore, figure out where he belongs and get acclimated. Belly bands are great when you have a male that wants to mark. You can buy one or make one. You can find out how to make one online. I would start crate training immediately. It is NEVER too late to potty train a dog. You can google how to potty train an older dog. LOTS of sites with tips as I am sure there are tons on here too. Just haven't looked myself. Good luck! I'm sure he will be "home" in no time! It didn't take long for our adopted fuzzbutt to make himself right at home and I have no doubt that this guy will do the same.
