My just-turned three year-old male Yorkie had full anal glands expressed by the vet about ten days ago. This is the first time he has ever had this problem, and we discovered it because he was scooting across the carpet at home. The vet prescribed an antibiotic for seven days to protect him against infection, which we administered. We have now noticed that his anal glands feel full again, and it has only been a week and a half.

My question is this: Does anyone know whether having full anal glands becomes a regular problem once they have had to have this done? Or can a Yorkie have this condition once and it rarely ever happens again?
