No, you can't show a CKC dog. However, it is used by Puppy Mills and BYBers for various reasons.....they are less into the improvement of the breed and into the making money aspect. It's easy to register a questional pedigreed or parentage dog there. So, the certificate can be used to fool the unsuspecting buyer.
AKC is the coveted and desired Championship reputable breeder/exhibitors want. Since the purpose of showing is to gain approval of your breeding stock. That doesn't mean that every dog that has been Championed should have been. You can drag a dog around the show circuit, go to obscur shows where the competition isn't great and you can Champion a dog. Hence again if you're looking for a healthy dog, that is a good representation of the breed....you still have to do your homework.
Did I give you enough info? |
ah ha, I understand, thanks for the info. I always wondered how some people would say their pups were from champion lines, when they looked, er..., unchampionlike.
