I would make sure that it is okay to wash his face area. If he's got an ulcer, the vet may not want it to get any water or "soap" on it. Check with him/her first if it will be okay to give a bath. There a numerous spray shampoos as well that can be used on the body at least. I use them from time to time between baths. Check out my collars, they are much more comfortable than those plastic ones.
