It's clear that the OP operates a pet store. As much as I know that we are all against them, pet stores do seem to be the norm in NYC. There have been many folks come on YT looking for a pet that state just that. I can only hope they aren't operating like a Petland and buying from puppy mills. Obviously, reputable breeders won't sell to pet stores but I don't think anyone that does is automatically the worst of the worst.
The OP's 'rescue' does seem to be a rescue, though clearly not a not for profit. It looks like she does both (selling both breeder acquired and rescue dogs) from her retail store. I don't see where she says she's ONLY a rescue so not sure there's any real deception. It may not be ideal in many people's minds, but I'm sure the dogs appreciate having a home, regardless of how it came about.
It may well be that I'm missing something here, but I don't see anything to crucify her over. She may well be giving some dogs a second chance and that's a good thing.
To be clear, I don't agree with pet stores of any type. I would never place any of my pups that way, as I'm sure the same is true of everyone else here. I just think that maybe things in this case aren't as terrible as are being supposed.
I am aware of the 'fake' rescues but I think this might be a case of someone rescuing and retailing in the same place and not some sinister deception. Have whatever opinion you want but no need to make it more than it is. | How much rescue have you done? No reputable rescue would do what is going on here. I believe it is deceptive to use the word rescue when they are out buying dogs..
