We actually talked about that this afternoon. Our animal control has several absolutely beautiful Cocker Spaniels that are desperate. I think they'd be a little easier to train and would do fine in her fenced in backyard...the yorkie can get out as she's so small. Honestly I would love to take one of them but we have to get a low dander breed as my youngest has mild allergy and asthma. Thankfully the allergist said small and low dander would be great for our family. Anyway, not to get off the subject, I did bring that suggestion up to her and I think she's thinking about it. Definitely don't think animal control would do anything about ithe yorkie. She did get taken to the vet last week and has clean water and food (although it's totally the wrong kind). They have much worse to tend to than this...although it is sad enough to break our hearts.
