Yeah, but the good thing, once he knows to speak, then you can say "no speak".
I did that with Maggie and her whining. She is such a whiner and she was clicker trained so it was easier to get her to learn to stop whining. I've been lax with it but I can say to her 'ah ah' and she will stop for a short period of time.
