They'll ask you to keep him quiet for a few days. Best thing to do is either keep him in an x-pen or crate, that is when you can't hold him. Don't allow him to jump, he will have sutures so, you don't want to give him any chance of having the incision opening. The pain meds will help keep him down. You can ask for Metacam, it is a anti-inflamitory pain med. Or you can ask your vet if Children's Benadryl can be given. Boys tend to bounce back faster than girls. But, with the new anesthesias of today Isoflorine or Sevo both sexes bounce back so much faster than the old days. Oh! Ask for blood work to be done on him too.

FYI don't allow them to give you Durmaxx as a pain med.....too many dogs have had adverse reactions to it and some have been lost.
