Food color will make a difference in the stool color but it should not be soft and mushy.
Maybe the food does not agree with your dog's system.

It took forever for me to find a food that did not give eye goobers and soft stool.
Now EVERYTHING is prefect.
I am feeding him Nature's Variety Prairie Lamb & Oatmeal.
Great size kibble and he LOVES it!
Makes me very HAPPY!

I personally have not fed Nutro but I have not heard good things about it here on the boards.
