I’m not understanding this crate thing. I have read that you have to get the puppy use to the crate and it should be little by little over time. So, first letting him be outside the crate then throwing a treat in there and waiting for him to go in and get it and then letting him stay in there with the door open then moving on to having him in there with the door closed. But I thought the puppy would use the crate at night while he’s sleeping. Where/how should he sleep in the meantime while I am teaching him that the crate is his “den”? I don’t want to start him sleeping with me (no matter how tempting it may be because I don’t want to roll over on the little guy). I want him next to the bed though so I can hear him. |
