Yes, mine have me trained.
I have steps so they can get on the sofa, but I keep a thow over the sofa to protect it. I actually have a few throws so that I can rotate them out. As for the bed... well I just make sure I keep the covers pulled up over the pillows so nothing gets on the sheets. I just use a lightweight, washable bedspread anyway so it's easy to throw in the wash as needed.
