Brooklynn whines when my husband leaves in the morning, and I say "Brooklynn Quiet" once or twice and she goes back to sleep. If she is in quiet time and is hungry, that is the only time she barks. Then I make her Sit before she jumps into her food.
I am not a fan on constant barking, so we are working on this in our house too.
