I agree with other posters here the biggest issure with the little ones is their saftey and extra precautions that have to be made, My little girl just turned a year old and is sitting at 2 1/2lbs she is a great little dog but quite a bit more work than my boy. He is about 4 3/4 lbs and that extra weight makes all the difference, He is much more sturdy, but still very small IMO. I think that 4-6 lbs would be ideal weight for me. But if you have time and are willing to put in the extra energy the small ones can still make good pets too.
