Two silky coated parents can produce a soft coated pup. The soft/cottony coat can be carried by a silky coated dog.
By the looks of your picture the pup should be silky coated. Its hard to tell for sure but it looks that way to me.
Personally I wouldn't cut a pups coat, unless I planned on keeping it short always. I never cut the face hair around the eyes at all.
It does take up to 2 years to get a full adult coat in. Most you can see the shift in color by one or so. |
