I do not allow barking. It is corrected in the same manner as any other bad behavior.
I use the Dog Whisperer method. A nip lon the neck and shhhhhttttttttttt
After a few times all it takes is shhhhhhhhttttttt. and they stop.
They bark hen someone comes to the door, but quiet down when they are in the house. They bark at squirrels and rabbits. But stop when thdey are told to.
So which ever method of correction you choose to use, be consistent.
Oh they also have these bird house looking things, that give off a sound when the dog barks. It is a sound that only dogs can hear and they do not like. I have not tried it but some on here have and says it works great.
