Who sold you these puppies? Do you have full breeding rights? If you do you are responsible for taking these dogs to the vets to be checked out and cared for. If you got them with full breeding rights you can never claim that this was un-planned. If you do not have breeding rights on these 2 dogs they should have been fixed at 6 months of age, both of them. Either way you are responsible for this pregnancy and you need to deal with the consequences.
You are right, vet cost is not cheap, that is why responsible breeders do not breed to sell puppies for pennies. Before breeding the moms and dads many tests are needed to be performed to make sure any underlying problem that can be traced is not passed on. Also, pedigrees and blood lines are taken into consideration, of course if one does not know what to consider that is not gonna get done. Usually the breeder who places puppies should be the judge if someone is financially able to get on the task of breeding, of course, education about the breed and breeding and whelping is just as important.
You should have considered all the pros and cons of having these 2 dogs together and allowing them to breed.
