OP, one of the major lessons I have learned is 'once you know better, you do better.' It doesn't help at all to beat yourself up about something you couldn't have understood at the time. Seeking out information and being open to learning says so much about you! I'm sure you will be an excellent parent. 
You are entitled to be over-the-moon excited about your new puppy, so don't let anything change that! Congrats! |
