To answer your other question, no grain isn't necessarily bad. I think some grains are easier to digest, healthier, and less likely to cause allergies. I believe these are the grains NV uses in their products.
It's a matter of personal choice for you, and of finding something your baby likes and does well on. All five of mine do great on NV products and I would recommend NV to anyone.
