| You could go to the regular Innova. That's what I feed. I believe they have a senior formula that probably has lower protein. |

| I feed my girls Fromm's and they are doing wonderful on it. I'm feeding their grain free formula right now. Here's a link to their website: http://www.frommfamily.com/products-...g-cat-food.php |

| I love Nature's Variety Instinct. The Rabbit & the Turkey/Duck formulas are both 35% protein, so still high but not as high as EVO. They do contain salmon meal, though. If your concern is ethoxiquin - NV confirmed that there is none in their fish meal. If this is still too high in protein, I'd recommend the NV Praire line. The Prairie isn't grain-free like Instinct, but it's an excellent food. They have several varieties that aren't chicken: venison, beef, lamb, etc.

| Prairie: Lamb Meal & Oatmeal Medley: Kibble Diet for Dogs | Nature's Variety is this a good food? I thought anything with "meal" wasnt good for them.. like lamb meal..chicken meal... etc

| Quote: To answer your other question, no grain isn't necessarily bad. I think some grains are easier to digest, healthier, and less likely to cause allergies. I believe these are the grains NV uses in their products. It's a matter of personal choice for you, and of finding something your baby likes and does well on. All five of mine do great on NV products and I would recommend NV to anyone.

Peanut is on Evo red meat and sometimes he has these little tiny poops.. I would say 80% of the time he has normal bm's but then sometimes he has little poo drops everywhere.. and I heard that can be from too much protein. Also I heard it could be constipation but I dont know if thats the case bc its not like he doesnt go normal.. So do you think I should try a lower protein, like the Prairie: Lamb Meal & Oatmeal Medley: Kibble Diet for Dogs | Nature's Variety to see how he does with it... I am ok with it as long as it doesnt contain the ethoxiquin.

| It looks like Beef & Lamb are the two main meat proteins in both. But, EVO has potatoes listed as the 3rd ingredient which will boost the protein level in the food. I didn't look at the ingredients in depth but they both looked good to me.

Wouldnt you say that "LAMB" is a better meat for them.. I dont know the NV PRAIRE Lamb and oatmeal sounds like a really good food.. plus with the oatmeal, you would think that would be great for them. I also found the NV INSTINCT DUCK AND TURKEY TOO soo I guess I just have to think about which one would be the best..
