maybe you put it on too loose? The first collar I ever got Maxi was mettalic blue with a big rhinestone heart on it and even though it was XS it was still big so he chewed it all the time and I was scared cause of the diamonds on it.. so he doesnt wear it anymore. I only use it for his ID tag cause he wears a buddy belt but I ended up getting him those adjustable collars that they make for small dogs. They are made out of really soft materials so he doesnt even remember its on. GL
